This site is run by Kevo, an individual based in Tanzania. It collects as little as possible. It sets no cookies. One preference, your choice of light or dark theme, is kept in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.

Server logs keep only the first three parts of an IPv4 address (the first 56 bits of IPv6), and never record cookies or authorisation headers.

Who processes it, and where#

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (United States, with a global network): every request to this site passes through Cloudflare, which also runs the contact and newsletter forms and the Turnstile spam check.
  • Resend (United States): sends the newsletter, and delivers and stores contact messages and email sent to this site’s addresses.
  • GitHub, Inc. (United States): hosts comments, through GitHub Discussions.
  • GoatCounter: counts page views without cookies or personal identifiers. Analytics only runs on the live site.
  • Amazon Web Services (Stockholm, Sweden): hosts the server that delivers the pages and keeps the short-lived logs.

Comments#

Comments load nothing from a third party until you choose to open them. Opening them loads the Giscus widget from giscus.app, which shows GitHub Discussions; posting needs a GitHub account and is governed by GitHub’s own privacy statement.

Your choices#

  • Unsubscribe with the one-click link at the bottom of every newsletter email. Your address is then removed from the mailing list.
  • Ask for a copy or deletion of anything held about you by writing to the address below. I will reply within a month.
  • Delete a comment in GitHub yourself, or ask me to remove it.
